After we receive your application, it will be carefully reviewed and if we feel we can help you find a dog that meets your wants and needs, we will reach out by text to set up a phone conversation (if not, we will let you know that too). During the phone call we will talk about things like your current household situation, what you are looking for in a dog, and any must haves and deal breakers. We will also describe our adoption process in detail. If we all agree that a current Sketchy Mutt might be a good fit, we will bring him to your home and introduce him to your dogs, cats, and human family members. If all goes well and everyone (including your animals) is in agreement, you will start a one-week (minimum) trial adoption. We want you to live day in, day out with the dog to see what it would really be like to bring him into your family. If at any point during the trial adoption you decide its not a good match, the dog goes back to his foster home. If it is a match, we finalize the adoption or agree to a foster-to-adopt arrangement for animals who need spay/neuter or completion of medical care.
